ABOUT ME

Jessica Skipp

Video Editor and Animator based South England.

Thank you for visiting my website.

Here are a few personal facts about me. I am very family-oriented, and I absolutely adore my dogs. If I could, I would have as many dogs as possible, haha. I enjoy going to the cinema to watch the latest films. I am a figure skater and snowboarder (well I am still new to that last one). I also have a strong passion for editing videos, both for my personal life and my professional career.

I've always been in awe of the film and animation industry and have known from a very young age that this was my career. I am extremely excited to see where this role could take me, and I can't wait to become involved in more amazing projects.

Work Experience
BlueZoo Animation Studios

2024 - 2024

In March 2024, I started my role at BlueZoo Animation Studios and had the opportunity to work on a number of incredible kids' TV shows. During my contract, I worked on Numberblocks, Mojo Swoptops (Season 1), Wonderblocks (Season 1), and Alphablocks. I spent a lot of my days balancing 2-3 shows, with most of my time spent on Wonderblocks and Mojo Swoptops. I really enjoyed working on such a variety of shows, as I was able to contribute to all phases of the production timeline, from animatic editing to QC/final deliveries. It was really nice to balance the shows and collaborate with so many different teams. I recently finished my contract on December 20th and am now looking for my next opportunity in the editing field.

Pop Paper City

2021 - 2023

In July 2021, I started my role as an Editor for the Award Winning show Pop Paper City. In this position, I have successfully edited all 52 episodes of Series 1, leading 26 episodes. My day-to-day responsibilities involved editing animatics, as well as online and offline assemblies. I have collaborated closely with various departments such as Script Coordinators, Storyboarders, Layout Artists, Animators, and Render Artists.

One of my favourite parts of the editing process is choosing the music and sound effects for the episodes. As music can bring so much emotion to the story, I took great care in selecting the right music for each scene. During my time on the show, I also took on the responsibility of recording scratch audio for every episode, creating Edit Decision Lists (EDLs), addressing storyboard fixes, assembling trailers, performing quality control checks, and ensuring our episodes were suitable for TV broadcasting.

Helical Productions

2019 - 2021

During my time at Helical Productions, I had the opportunity to create promotional content for clients across different mediums such as TV, animation, and video. I worked closely with brands such as INEOS Team UK, The 1851 Trust, Inmarsat, Liz Earle Beauty Co, and Gac to develop promotional content and educational documentaries for these clients. Using my background in Animation, I also had the opportunity to work on a variety of animated projects, including documentaries, adverts, and social media posts.

Warner Brothers Studio Tour, UK

June - October 2019

I started my career at Warner Brothers Studios in 2019 as a Visitor Experience Host. My role focused on providing a warm welcome to all our visitors and assisting them in how to maximize the enjoyment of their day. Working in the admissions department, my day-to-day roles included; working as an ambassador for Warner Brothers, completing my tasks to high standards, and keeping our visitors happy.

Platinum Films

Summer Internship 2018

I had the incredible opportunity to join Platinum Films as their Creative Summer Intern in 2018. My role as a Creative Intern consisted of marketing and creative development -working in the production stages of a new upcoming animated series. I used my skills and degree in animation to help me with my tasks. I feel incredibly lucky for the time I have spent at Platinum Films, gaining invaluable experience within the film industry.

Freelance Editor

2014 - 2019

My Freelance Editor career began in 2014, starting with creating promotional videos for a variety of clients worldwide, including a collaboration with a large YouTube influencer based in America. This expanded my skills in videography and aided my development of knowledge in the production process. Leading this I spent 2 years as a Wedding videographer, greatly increasing my enjoyment for cinematography and post-production. This involved working under pressure discreetly and respectfully to capture those delicate moments and produce a beautiful, high-quality wedding film. Volunteered as a photographer for the Dreams Come True Charity, I attended their summer charity ball to take photos for Hello Magazine.
